The world is a crazy place right now. We’re all experiencing the highs and lows of the covid-19 crisis and there’s a gradual realisation that things will never really be the same again.
Back in March, we were firmly in the ‘react’ camp, and we had a long hard think about what we could do to support our network. We recognised that those of us involved in the people side of business had our work cut out to navigate the weeks and months ahead. We needed to make sure we looked after ourselves first and foremost. So, we decided to bring together a bunch of like-minded people together to talk, share and learn. We launched our hugely popular ‘wellbeing lunches’ and our ‘playlist’ newsletter to do this.
Now that we are moving into the ‘adapt’ and ‘renew’ phase, we wanted to help you figure out what happens next, and make sense of the huge volume of information and advice that’s out there.
The way you plan, prepare and respond in this next phase could make all the difference to your employee experience, engagement and organisational performance. There has never been a better time to take stock, and reset your approach to EX, engagement and people. And perhaps there’s never been a better time for creativity and experimentation.
But just where do you start? There’s no best practice or playbook for what happens now, we’re all figuring it out together.
We’re seeing some positive changes emerging:
- Empathy is on the rise
- Companies are finally using digital to help make work better
- Remote and flexible working is now the norm
- Despite the distance we’re getting closer
- We’re cutting through the bureaucracy to get things done
- Employee voice is on the up
- Leaders are increasingly focused on outcomes
- HR is undergoing a revolution, and at last taking a human-centred approach
We’re also seeing some conflicting messages too – for example, Harris Interactive reported back in April that employee engagement was nose-diving, whereas Gallup and Quantum Workplace reported the opposite.
The disruption and chaos is going to be around for a while. But what is clear, is that there is a unique moment in time for us to work together in making sense of this all. We want to bring together our amazing network of talented, passionate professionals to figure out what happens next and make the most of the opportunity the big reset presents.
Introducing the Reset Show
We’re going to host our all new ‘Reset Show’ every fortnight. It’s a place where we can get together to think differently about workplaces, people, EX, engagement, culture, leadership and more.
On each show we’ll share:
- Current reset thinking
- Latest research
- Practical tools
- Company stories of what’s working and what isn’t
And we’ll invite you to connect with like-minded others to make sense of this together. You’ll be able to ask questions of our hosts and their guests, and input into future shows.
The first show in on Wednesday 29th July between 13.00 and 13.50 and will continue fortnightly. We’d love you to join us, so sign up here
The Reset Playlist
We’ll also be sharing ‘Reset’ content via our regular ‘Reset Playlist’ – sign up here to make sure it’s delivered direct to your inbox.
We’re seeing something really exciting emerging right now. Companies are rising to the challenge and realising that they have to get it right with their people if they want to survive. So please join us to be part of the big reset conversation, we would love to hear what you have to say.
If you can’t make the Reset Show but would still like to talk, share, collaborate or ask questions then get in touch – we’re always up for a chat and very happy to jump on a Zoom or a Teams call anytime
