Over the past year, we’ve had hundreds of conversations about AI.
Through webinars, workshops, courses, consulting projects and conversations, one thing has become increasingly clear: most people professionals are no longer asking whether AI matters.
They’re asking how to use it well.
The challenge is that much of the conversation about AI still sits at the extremes. On one side, there are endless predictions about transformation, productivity and disruption. On the other, there are concerns about risk, ethics and what might be lost along the way.
Yet when we speak to practitioners working in employee experience, employee engagement, internal communication, HR and learning and development, the reality tends to look rather different.
People are experimenting. Testing. Learning. Making mistakes. Finding unexpected uses. Discovering where AI adds value and where human judgement still matters most.
Some are using AI to analyse employee feedback. Others are using it to support communication planning, research, content creation, learning design or strategy development. Many are still figuring out where it fits, what works well and what should probably be left to humans.
And that’s exactly why we’d like your help.
Several years ago, we created The Employee Engagement Knowledge Exchange, bringing together advice, ideas and experiences from professionals across the world of employee engagement. The result became one of our most downloaded and widely shared resources.
We’d love to do something similar again, this time focused on the intersection of people, work and AI.
Our aim is simple: to capture the collective intelligence of our community and create a practical resource filled with real-world experiences, lessons learned and advice from people professionals who are exploring the opportunities and challenges AI presents.
Over the next four weeks, we’re inviting you to share your thoughts on any or all of the following questions:
1. Where has AI made the biggest difference to the way you work?
2. What’s one lesson you’ve learned about using AI effectively?
3. What’s something AI still can’t do as well as humans?
4. What advice would you give to someone just getting started?
Whether you’ve been experimenting for a few weeks or using AI every day for the past two years, we’d love to hear from you.
You can contribute in whatever way feels easiest:
- Leave a comment on this blog or LinkedIn post
- Send us a message via email (info@peoplelab.co.uk) or LinkedIn
- Or send us a LinkedIn voice note
We’re also interested in hearing more about the stories behind the answers. If you’re happy for us to contact you for a short follow-up conversation, please let us know when you respond.
Once the campaign closes, we’ll bring together the insights, examples and lessons learned into a free resource for the wider community and, as always, we’ll acknowledge everyone who contributes.
The future of work won’t be shaped by AI alone.
It will be shaped by the people learning how to use it thoughtfully, responsibly and effectively.
We’d love to hear your experiences – get in touch today!
