Did you know that despite an increased focus on, and investment in, employee engagement globally, we are still yet to see any significant improvements? We call this the ‘employee engagement gap’and we’d really like to understand how we can turn this around.
To do this we need your help – we want to hear from you about the realities of working in employee engagement today, the good, the bad and the ugly!
In our 2017 report, we discovered that:
- Practitioners are being expected to do more for less, with ‘big budgets’ seeing a huge decline
- People Managers are still not being invested in when it comes to developing their employee engagement skills, and as a result they’re less likely than ever to be rated as good or excellent when it comes to engaging their teams – declining by 25 percentage points compared to 2017
- There’s still a lack of employee engagement strategies and plans – in fact, only 42% of the organisations that we spoke to have an employee engagement strategy
