Employee Engagement 2015: What’s holding it back?

Here at People Lab, we like to have our finger very much on the pulse of what is happening in the world of employee engagement, and have decided it is time to launch a new piece of research: ‘Spotlight On The Employee Engagement Profession’.

We want to gather insight into what is working, and what isn’t, to better understand this sector, and to share it! We would like to invite you dear readers and followers to take part in this new survey for 2015 to help us achieve some really valuable understanding on what is happening with the sector now, and where it is going in the future.

Whilst employee engagement is on the rise, progress is slow. The CIPD Employee Outlook Survey Spring 2015 indicates the Engagement Index has risen to 39% this year, up from 38% in 2014 and 35% from 2013, People Lab want to know what is holding back this trend. Deloitte’s 2015 Global Human Capital Trends Report states ‘culture and engagement were rated the most important challenge of 2015 .

Employee Engagement Author and Director of People Lab, Emma Bridger says:

“Employee Engagement is now fairly well understood, and a key priority for orqanisations. However, despite an increased focus, we are still not seeing improvements in employee engagement to reflect this. We’ve launched this research to better understand what is going on and what is getting in the way of companies significantly improving engagement with their employees. We want to gather further insight, understand the barriers and then share best practice, to positively impact the trends we are seeing. ”

If you take part, you can enter into our prize draw for a chance to win one of five copies of Emma Bridger’s recently published book ‘Employee Engagement’, and we also have one People Manager’s Toolkit, worth £450 to give away. The Toolkit is aimed at people managers, and contains practical, easy to use tools, techniques and tips enabling them to improve employee engagement.

By entering the prize draw, you will also receive a copy of our report based upon the survey results along with key insights from Emma Bridger from People Lab, an award-winning internal employee engagement specialist.
