This week is ‘Learning at work week, so to celebrate, we’re sharing some of our favourite resources to help you to create great learning experiences at work.
CIPD’s latest Article talks about how 2022s theme for ‘Learning at Work Week’ is ‘learning uncovered’ and the three sub themes:
- uncover learning potential – this is the development of skills that we have to their fullest. Taking a strengths-based approach will enable people to grow and flourish in the workplace.
- uncover hidden powers – this is values & beliefs-based learning. Creating a superpower out of something that you believe in is actively engaging and will help you to thrive as you uncover something that you may not have realised that you could do.
- uncover new dimensions – This is letting go of doing things in the way that you have always done them. If learning for you is traditional classroom based, then try an online or correspondence course. Be curious about the art of the possible in your learning journey.
What to watch…
In April, we welcomed award winning L & D Professional, Michelle Parry-Slater to the Reset Show. In the show she shared her thoughts on the importance of community, networking and knowing your audience, and other useful tools for successful L&D for the post pandemic world.
We also highly recommend her latest book The Learning and Development handbook to help you understand all there is to know about successful L & D.
More recently we were joined by Donald Clark talking about LX Design. Donald could easily be described as the father of online, or digital learning, with over 30 years of experience.
His belief is that maybe we should be looking at ripping up the rule book and approach learning using science. He believes in understanding your audience, and explained how he uses AI to determine the best blended approach to learning to optimise the best solution for the budget available.
His book, ‘Learning Design Experience’, answers such questions as ‘how can I create in-person learning that engages people?‘, ‘how can I build digital learning which is effective?’ and ‘how can I develop learning content that can be used remotely and ensure that the learning sticks?’
And we also wanted to re-share one of our favourite shows from 2020, featuring Dr Bonnie Cheuk and Ella Richardson talking about the Future of learning. They discussed current trends, making learning human-first and the potential for the future of learning.
